Cheick Diallo (b. 1960, Mali) trained as an architect and designer in France before returning to Bamako in 2004 to found Diallo Design. His Sansa armchair — woven steel wire wrapped in coloured nylon by artisans of Bamako — is held by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the CID at Grand-Hornu. A founding figure of contemporary African design, he has shown at Milan, the Dakar Biennale and Design Network Africa.
