"Cold steel, hammered until it looks alive."

Junko Mori (b. 1974, Yokohama) is a Wales-based metalwork sculptor whose aggregate pieces — thousands of individually forged steel or silver components, welded one by one — are inspired by living matter and cellular forms. Represented by Adrian Sassoon, she has been collected by the V&A, the National Museum of Scotland and the National Museum Wales, and her Propagation Project series has been running since 2000.
