Oki Sato founded nendo in Tokyo in 2002. The studio's lighting — Mimicry Chairs, Press, Static Bubbles for FLOS, Hanabi for Kanaya — is held by MoMA, the V&A, the Pompidou and Triennale di Milano. Studios in Tokyo and Milan; long collaborations with Cappellini, FLOS, Maruni and Hermès.
